Lauren Parris Watts' practice focuses on representing and advising individual clients and small to medium-sized business clients in employment matters. She counsels clients on a variety of issues, including compensation and severance agreements, non-competition and non-solicitation restrictions, disability accommodations, FMLA and other leave rights and misconduct investigations. She also represents her clients in lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, sexual harassment, retaliation and discrimination.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Lauren had practical corporate and business experience—from large companies such as Amazon.com, First American Title Insurance Company, and Starbucks to small family businesses and start-ups. She also briefly worked in the public sector as an intern for U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell in her Washington, D.C. office. Lauren understands her clients and their needs, and at all stages she strives to identify practical solutions understanding that legal advice must always give consideration to the client’s greater personal and business objectives.
Lauren graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and then returned to pursue her law degree at the Seattle University School of Law near her Pacific Northwest home. She is committed to staying active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Seattle Girls' School, a girls' middle school in South Seattle. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their one year old son.
I was referred to your firm by a close friend who'd had a great experience on a different type of case. He'd contacted the lawyer that had worked with him and then that gentleman assured my friend that I would be well taken care of. I can say that I honestly went into the case with no expectations and since I'd never retained a lawyer before, I didn't know what to expect or what would best in a couple of the circumstances as far as outcomes. I was very pleased that Lauren Parris-Watts was able to help guide me through the whole process and was very prompt in responding to my questions and emails. I would absolutely recommend your firm to anyone in need of legal services. It was also obvious that Lauren and also Karen (who referred me to Lauren after hearing about my story) care deeply about their clients and see them as more than just clients, but people in need of help.
